Stop Smoking: The Detrimental Effects Of Smoking

Smoking is detrimental to your health and it is unlikely anyone, anywhere on the planet is unaware of this fact. The media won’t let such a thing happen, just take a gander at all the anti-smoking commercials aired daily. People that are still smoking after all the stop smoking campaigns probably aren’t going to are they? I should think by now we all know that lung cancer, in the majority of cases is caused by smoking and not just to those people over 65 years of age or those with a genetic disposition.

Just one cigarette can leave traces on your lungs for a month, so you don’t have to be a regular smoker. I don’t need to tell you what one pack could do. Sitting on the fence at this late stage is not going to help especially with the overwhelming evidence so perhaps it’s worth considering stop smoking help or some recent information on ways to stop smoking.

Unlike smoking, learning something about the problems it causes isn’t going to hurt you is it? Today, physicians are falling over backwards to help people with a smoking addiction who want to give up before it’s too late. With smoking, common sense rarely rules the day with most smokers ignoring the warnings. Some individuals just need a scare before they can get on the smoke-free bandwagon. It seems that it’s only when they actually have problems of their own that they start to take notice of articles on lung cancer.

To continue smoking, albeit through your neck because you’ve had throat cancer, has got to be the ultimate in stupidity for someone who is obviously in denial about how dangerous it is. I though I had seen some truly bizarre things in my life before this but this person is living (for now) proof that there are some people that just cannot quit smoking. There has always been evidence that smoking can cause serious respiratory problems but now all that knowledge and research is available to anyone who is interested.

No-one is in a position anymore to plead ignorance, there’s just too much evidence and information on lung cancer to say you didn’t know! It’s not just smokers who are affected either because those of us that don’t would like to work or have a meal etc. without having to breath in other peoples smoke. All too often people have the intention to quit but something disastrous happens and they are forced to, but by then it may be too late to make any difference.
